Top-ranked Indian Boxer Faizan Anwar is set to make his return to action as he will be fighting Justice Addy of Ghana on 5 June 2021 in Dubai.
Faizan, who currently has a professional record of 6-0 to his name, will be looking to remain undefeated when he steps into the ring to face Justice Addy. The Indian’s last fight came against Evgenii Vazem of Russia back in April and he had won it via a unanimous decision. Prior to this, Faizan had secured a win over JR Mendoza as well.
The 20-year-old hailing from Kolkata is currently ranked first in the Welterweight Rankings for India as per BoxRec with names like Neeraj Goyat, Shiva, Arun Antil, and Vaibhav Singh Yadav completing the top five rankings. Faizan is also ranked third in the pound-for-pound rankings in India just above Vijender Singh with Brijesh Meena being the top-ranked boxer. Sukhdeep Singh comes in at second, and Lalrinsanga Tlau completes the top five.
Justice Addy, on the other hand, holds a professional record of 16-8-1 to his name. The 36-year-old comes in with a wealth of experience on his resume and is currently ranked second in Ghana for Welterweight as per BoxRec. He will be looking to break his four-fight losing streak when he fights Faizan.
The event will be held at the Hilton Al Habtoor City, Dubai, and will be headlined by the showdown between Rolly Lambert Fogoum and Mada Maugo. Also on the card is the bout between Hasibullah Ahmadi and KJ Natuplag. Montana Love vs. Olaide Fijabi, Ian Green vs. Theophilus Ofei Dodoo, and Norman Neely vs Victor Mashaka are the other fights confirmed for the event.
