Indian boxer Faizan Anwar defeats Evgenii Vazem of Russia in Dubai

Top-ranked Indian Boxer Faizan Anwar remained unbeaten in his professional boxing career by securing a victory over Evgenii Vazem of Russia at the Herring vs. Frampton event which was held in Dubai on Saturday, 3 April 2021.

Faizan secured a unanimous decision victory in the bout and with the win, Faizan improved his professional record to 6-0 and cemented his spot on top of the Welterweight rankings for Indian boxers in BoxRec. Prior to this victory, Faizan had defeated JR Mendoza of the Philippines in Dubai back in October 2020. Interestingly, five of his last six wins came in Dubai.

Evgeniii Vazem, meanwhile, dropped to 9-14 and slipped to a four-fight losing streak. The Russian was fighting for the first time after December 2020 and will be looking to snap the losing streak when he steps into the boxing ring next.

Faizan Anwar vs. Evegenii Vazem was in the undercard of the historic title fight between Jamel Herring and Carl Frampton. Herring came out on top in the main event with a sixth-round TKO to retain the title the event was sanctioned by The Dubai Boxing Commission and was promoted by the likes of Jose Mohan (Round 10 Promotions), Bob Arum (Top Rank), and Frank Warren (Queensberry Promotions) as per BoxRec.
