Jon Jones is back and the whole world is taking notice including PSG superstar Neymar.
Neymar, who was previously seen posing with UFC fighters like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira, posted an Instagram story congratulating Jon Jones for the win at UFC 285.
“The king is back,” Neymar wrote on his Instagram story after tagging Jon Jones.
Jones made quick work of Ciryl Gane in the UFC 285 main event when he submitted the French star in the first-round itself. Jones has also bounced back to the top of the UFC pound for pound rankings with the win.
Not only did Jones topped the UFC pound-for-pound rankings but he also entered the elite list of double champions in the UFC.
He is now expected to fight Stipe Miocic next to defend the UFC Heavyweight title.
Neymar out of action for months
While the recent future looks bright for Jones, for Neymar, that is not the case.
The Brazilian's season appears to be over as he could be out for four months, yet, should PSG advance that far in the competition, he could make a comeback in time for the Champions League final on June 10.
On February 19, Neymarwas carried off the field during PSG's Ligue 1 match against Lille. When the team initially said that he hadn't fractured, there was hope that a comeback wouldn't take too long. On Tuesday, it was found that the ankle ligaments needed surgery to be repaired, which would keep him out for a long time.
Neymar has already missed more than 20 games in the league just once since 2017, and he has now suffered four ankle ailments in the past four years. Yet, he was having one of his best seasons in a PSG jersey to date, scoring 18 goals and dishing out 14 assists across all competitions. But, he was said to be leaving in the summer, thus this might have been his final match for Les Parisiens.
