"Pretty Boy" Kwon Won Il is preparing for his much-anticipated return to the global stage of ONE Championship on Friday, June 9.

In a highly-anticipated bantamweight MMA clash at ONE Fight Night 11: Eersel vs. Menshikov, the talented South Korean fighter will face off against Artem Belakh. Renowned for his knockout abilities, Kwon aims to deliver another signature finish at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. Belakh has already proven himself at the top level by dominating former ONE Bantamweight World Title contender Leandro Issa last October, making it clear that Kwon faces a tough challenge ahead.

Confident in his skills, the hard-hitting "Pretty Boy" believes he has the edge over his Russian rival as they meet in Bangkok, Thailand. While Belakh secured the #5 spot in the bantamweight MMA rankings with his impressive debut victory, Kwon, ranked #4, has triumphed in four out of his last five fights and is determined to make his mark among the elite contenders.

“Artem seems like a good guy. He’s too nice to provoke. In my opinion, his main strength is his physical power. However, he lacks speed, and I possess a greater range of skills. To excel in my strengths, I focused on improving my striking skills. Since my opponent is strong and good at wrestling, I also trained to defend against wrestling techniques,” he said.

In the past, Kwon suffered a defeat at the hands of now-ONE Bantamweight World Champion Fabricio Andrade, but he firmly believes that another spectacular knockout victory could earn him a rematch with the reigning king.

“In ONE Championship, all my wins have been finished. Of course, there will be a finish this time, and this time, I will work harder to get a performance bonus. Just watch the fight. I’ll finish it in the second round. Then a Fabricio Andrade rematch will be next,” he said in an interview with ONE Championship.
