The fight between Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brooks did not go through as initially planned. The showdown was rescheduled for a later date but that is not stopping Pacio from being ready.
The Team Lakay star, who is reigning on top of the ONE Strawweight division, noted in an interview with Philstar that he is improving his skills while waiting for the call.
“The training will continue. More on drills, and honing techniques. And of course, still learning new things. We know that the enemy is not something to be taken lightly. So, more on, we are working on our wrestling... All our tools, all our weapons coming up to this fight,” Pacio noted.

Brooks has been on a rampage ever since his ONE Championship debut and he is currently undefeated in the promotion having secured wins over Lito Adiwang, Bokang and Hiroba Minowa. The American MMA star has been vocal about wanting to fight Pacio as well.
Speaking further, Pacio noted that the team is hoping to have the title defence in the Philippines.
“That's the one we Team Lakay athletes are waiting for, right? The one that was supposed to open here in the Philippines. I hope we can defend there because it's really different when you're in front of the Filipino crowd, the energy is different and that's it, more motivation, more strength for our athletes when we compete here in the Philippines," Pacio added.
The Filipino star is currently 19-3 in his professional MMA career and is on a four-fight winning streak at the moment. The 26-year-old has been part of the ONE Championship since 2016 and has been quite active as well.
