Joshua Pacio is expected to defend his ONE Strawweight title against Jarred Brooks sooner or later. While he is preparing himself for the showdown with the American, Pacio is taking time out to aid his Team Lakay teammate Lito Adiwang in recovering from injury.
Adiwang suffered an injury in his last fight against Jeremy Miado and is currently sidelined after surgery.
Pacio noted in his recent interview with Philstar that the team motivates Lito Adiwang during the recovery process.
“Of course, that is also heavy on the career of an athlete, but we are fighters not just inside the cage, inside the Circle, but even in life, we are fighters. That's what we always tell Lito and we motivate him," he added.

The reigning ONE Strawweight champion noted further that the injury has not demotivated Adiwang and that ‘The Thunderkid’ is currently focussing on recovery.
“The injury did not down him. He's more on concentrating on his fast recovery. He wants to train immediately. But of course, the doctor says that cannot be done yet. So he is now concentrating on how to recover faster and he wants to fight after a year, but recovery is important in that,” Pacio said.
Adiwang is currently on a two-fight losing streak at the moment. Prior to the fight against Jeremy Miado at ONE X, Adiwang had suffered a loss to Jarred Brooks who is now scheduled to fight Joshua Pacio for the title.
