Jarred Brooks believes that the upcoming fight against Joshua Pacio will be high stakes. The fight, which is set to happen on ONE Championship’s return to Manila, will have the ONE Strawweight title on the line.
While the title itself is an interesting prospect, Brooks believes that it will be the rivalry that will drive the fight. Both Brooks and Pacio have been engaged in trade of words for years now and the debates are expected to be settle when the two step into the ONE Circle next.
Speaking to MMA Sucka, Brooks noted that they will be trying to kill each other when they fight.
"I’m super excited for this bout and it’s years in the making so it’s gonna be definitely not a doozy. We’re gonna be going out and trying to kill each other, I wanna get this done in the first two rounds and see where it goes from there. I’m looking forward for it man, there’s nothing that’s gonna be stopping me on this fight,” he said.

In a separate interview, Brooks had also noted that he is planning to knockout Pacio while adding that people underestimate his striking skills.
Brooks has been unstoppable in ONE Championship after moving to the promotion from Bellator MMA. The Monkeygod secured three wins under the ONE Championship banner with the first win coming up against Pacio’s teammate Lito Adiwang.
After this, Brooks outclassed Koha Minowa and Bokang Masunyane to earn himself a title shot against Pacio. Currently 19-2 in his professional MMA career, Brooks has not tasted defeat since 2018 and is on a five-fight winning streak now. He has previously fought in the UFC as well where he had two-wins.
