Islam Makhachev can beat Charles Oliveira with Wrestling says Henry Cejudo

Former UFC double champion Henry Cejudo feels that Islam Makhachev can beat Charles Oliveira at UFC 280. Cejudo noted that if there is anyone out there that can beat Oliveira, it is Islam.

Triple C talked about the same on his YouTube channel and compared the fight between Makhachev and Oliveira to the showdown that he himself had against Demetrious Johnson.

“If there’s anybody that could beat Charles Oliveira, his name is Islam Makhachev because he has that one solid style. Same reason why I beat Demetrious Johnson: My wrestling overwhelmed whatever it is that he was bringing to the table, and wrestling can be your safety net. One solid base like wrestling could probably neutralize anything that any martial arts can bring to the table,” Cejudo said on his YouTube Channel.

Both Oliveira and Islam will be heading into the fight on the back of impressive winning streaks. Oliveira is coming off victories against the likes of Justin Gaethje, Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler, Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee.

Islam Makhachev, on the other hand, had secured wins over Bobby Green, Dan Hooker, Thiago Moises, Drew Dober and Davi Ramos.

Former UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and internet sensation Hasbulla are expected to be in the corner of Islam as well for the fight.

Makhachev is the betting favorite for UFC 280

Islam Makhachev will be going into the fight against Charles Oliveira as the betting favorite. The Russian is -180 betting favourite as per multiple sportsbooks. Oliveira, on the other hand, is +140 underdog for the title fight which happens in Abu Dhabi.
