Angela Lee details how her daughter is inspiring her
Angela Lee is hands down one of the most dominant champions in ONE Championship. The Singaporean-American fighter has been on top of the ONE Atomweight division for a long-time now and recently, she cemented her place on top with a win over Stamp Fairtex.
The win over Stamp was special for Lee as it was also her first fight after giving birth to her daughter, Ave Marie. After a long lay-off, Lee returned to action, and doubts were cast over her ring rust.
Lee, however, surprised everyone by pulling off the victory and retaining the ONE Atomweight title. Speaking to ONE Championship recently, the ONE atomweight queen opened up about how her daughter is inspiring her to become better.
“You know what, like, right now, I'm pursuing my passion. My passion is mixed martial arts. And, you know, I will continue doing it as long as I still have passion for it. She brings a whole new purpose to what I do,” Lee noted (h/t Sportskeeda)
She added that leading by example for her daughter is indeed a priority for her as she goes through her MMA career.
"And everything's just so much clearer now. I don't know, she just reignites this fire that I had when I started fighting. And I just want to show her that her mom is driven, her mom is ambitious, and her mom's a go-getter. You know, I want to lead by example for her,” Angela Lee added.
Lee currently holds a professional MMA record of 11-2 to her name and is on a two-fight winning streak. Before concluding, she also expressed her happiness about ONE Championship’s new deal with Prime Video.
“It's going to be great, you know, having the US support. I think they’re just gonna fall in love with the ONE Championship show, and the athletes are amazing you’re going to see us on a different level.” Lee concluded.
