Matrix Fight Night Flyweight champion Angad Bisht is all set to defend his title at MFN 12 against Brazil's Hugo Paiva.
The Indian secured the title with a win over Egypt's Mohamed Gamal at MFN 10 in November 2022 and will now headline MFN 12 as he puts his title on the line. Ahead of the fight, Angad noted that he is ready for the showdown and that he has a few tricks up his sleeves for his Brazilian counterpart.
"I am ready for the fight as always. I have trained well over the past few months and retaining the prestigious MFN title has been my goal ever since the match-up was announced. I will give my all once again, but it will be a good fight against Brazil's Hugo Paiva, who is a tremendously skilled fighter as well. But I will have a few tricks up my sleeve,” Angad noted ahead of the fight.
Training out of Mutant MMA Academy in Dehradun, Angad is currently on a four-fight winning streak. Prior to his win over Gamal, Angad had secured wins over Himanshu Kaushik, Chaitanya Gavali and Chungreng Koren.
He has been a mainstay in Matrix Fight Night and made his debut in the promotion back at Matrix Fight Night 2 when he fought Dhruv Chaudhary. After this, Angad has fought six times in the promotion amassing a combined promotional record of 5-2 with his losses coming against Sumeet Khade and Jacky Gahlot. Angad’s overall professional MMA record currently stands at 9-3.
Hugo, on the other hand, is currently 6-2 in his professional MMA career. He is coming off a loss in his last fight and will be eager to bounce back when he fights Angad Bisht. The Brazilian has fought in promotions such as LFA, Thunder Fight, Brazilian Fight Series among others and has 4 stoppage wins on his resume.
