The rematch between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury delivered big time as expected. Wilder and Fury last fought back in December 2018 in a fight that was ruled as a draw. The fans had been waiting eagerly for a rematch between these two ever since and it finally happened today at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The fight started off on a slow pace but picked up the steam towards the end of the first round. Fury was seen on the driving seat after the round as he was landing more on Wilder.

The English Heavyweight then managed to get a couple of knockdowns over Wilder as the rounds progressed. Wilder was soon bleeding from his left ear which turned out to be a major concern for his corner that eventually threw in the towel in the seventh round.

With the win, Fury won the WBC Heavyweight title and had the following to say after the win.

“A big shout out to Deontay Wilder. He came here tonight and he manned up and he really did show the heart of a champion. I hit him with a clean right that dropped him and he got back up. He is a warrior. He will be back. He will be champion again. But I will say, the king has returned to the top of the throne,” he said.

Wilder, meanwhile, was graceful in defeat and said that he will be back stronger.

“I’m doing good. Things like this happen. The best man won tonight, but my corner threw in the towel and I was ready to go out on my shield. I had a lot of things going on heading into this fight. It is what it is, but I make no excuses tonight. I just wish my corner would have let me go out on my shield. I’m a warrior. He had a great performance and we will be back stronger,” he said.
