Indian Muay-Thai star Surya Sagar suffered a controversial decision loss against Amata Kor. Kamolwat Thailand at the Max Muay-Thai event in Thailand on March 11, 2020.
Surya, who had a dominant performance throughout the fight, was surprisingly snubbed by the judges that instead choose Kamolwat as the winner via decision. In his last fight, Surya had secured an impressive knockout win in the same promotion but this time around, leaving it to the judges might have cost the Karnataka based fighter.
Despite the loss on record, the impressive performance from Surya has earned him praise from the entire Indian combat sports community. Many even pointed out that the judges made the wrong decision by giving the win to the Thailand fighter.
Surya is not the first fighter in recent times to get snubbed by the judges due to home advantage as the likes of Sunny Khatri and Kantharaj Agasa recently suffered the same fate in MMA while fighting in foreign promotions.
