Indian boxing star Nutlai Lalbiakkima continued his impressive run inside the ring by securing a stoppage win over Gerttipong Kumsahwat of Thailand to defend his IBA Intercontinental title.
Nutlai went up against Gerttipong in the main event of LPS Fight Night on November 27 in Mizoram and managed to stop his opponent in the second round itself. This was the first title defense of Nutlai after winning the IBA Intercontinental title against Sandeep Singh earlier this year in his second professional bout.
With the win, the Indian boxing star is now 3-0 in his professional boxing career with all his wins coming via stoppages. Nutlai, who had an impressive amateur career, turned professional in 2020 at Marine Pro Boxing Promotions.
His much-awaited professional debut happened back in December 2020 in Mumbai and it was a TKO win for the Mizo Boxer who had defeated Hasanboy Dusmatov during his amateur run.
The first title defense is expected to be a huge boost for Nutlai’s professional boxing run and he is expected to return to action soon.
