Bangalore is all set to host the South India selections for Underground Fight Night on March 21, 2020. The event will be held at the Abhiva CrossFit Arena and will be organized by Association of Mixed Martial Arts Karnataka and MMA India.
Interestingly, the selection will take place on two stages with the technical skills of the athletes being tested on the first stage while the second stage will feature fights.
Big announcement regarding Underground Fight Night was also teased by MMA India General Secretary Prasad Gaitonde in an exclusive statement to LockerRoom.
“Underground Fight Night is coming up with big announcement which would change the face of Amateur and Pro MMA circuit in India. Presently we are having selection for SOUTHINDIA on 21st March. Selection process is just not on wins but on techniques and skills as well. that's why we've divided selection into 2 part, first half we would have some drills, padding, bag work...Second part we would arrange the bouts. We would have selection trials in different zones in coming days , hundreds of fighters will get opportunity with Underground Right Night Sanctioned by MMA INDIA,” he noted.
Underground Fight Night was one of the most active promotions in India in 2019 having hosted multiple events in Mumbai. It would be interesting to see how the promotion returns in 2020 considering that there are some big announcements on its way.
