I would squeeze his head off: De Ridder confident he can submit Israel Adesanya

ONE Championship double champion Reinier De Ridder is confident that he can submit UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

De Ridder has been vocal about a potential showdown with Adesanya and in his recent interview with SCMP MMA, the Dutchman revealed that he would squeeze the head off Adesanya if they were to fight.

“I’m very confident that I would squeeze his head off,” De Ridder said during the interview (h/t AsianMMA.com)

The Dutchman is currently undefeated in his professional MMA career with a record of 15-0 to his name. He is reigning on top of the ONE Middleweight and Light Heavyweight divisions as well. He won both the titles from Aung La N Sang and recently outclassed ONE Welterweight champion Kiamrian Abbasov as well to have his first successful Middleweight title defense.

Prior to joining ONE Championship, De Ridder fought in WFL MMA, 360 Promotion, and EFC among others.

De Ridder is now expected to make a quick return to the ONE Circle when he faced BJJ icon Andre Galvao in a grappling match at ONE X.

As for Adesanya, the UFC Middleweight champion is undefeated at Middleweight. He has a professional MMA record of 22-1 to his name with his lone loss coming at Light Heavyweight. Adesanya is coming off a successful title defense against Robert Whittaker as well.
