Khamzat Chimaev has managed to emerge as a top contender in the Welterweight division in a short span of time. He has been undefeated through his professional MMA career and has a spotless record in the UFC as well.
Recently, Khamzat also expressed his interest in locking horns with UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and this has made many headlines. Khamzat said that Adesanya is easy money for him and tweeted that he can finish the Middleweight champion if they fight.

Israel Adesanya has now reacted to the hype surrounding Khamzat. The Stylebender noted that the hype around Khamzat is similar to what Paulo Costa had.
"I wanted to fight this guy [Costa] when he was this Adonis and put him on a pedestal. Like, 'Listen, I want to fight this guy. I want to f*** him up.' I feel like that's the same thing with Chimaev right now. Everyone's doing the same thing and riding off that energy. I like when people wake that side of me up. It's in there. I know it's in there, my dark side. I just don't tap into it because I can't live in that place for too long,” Adesanya said during the True Geordie Podcast (h/t Sportskeeda).
Just like Khamzat, Paulo Costa was on an undefeated run before he locked horns with Israel Adesanya at UFC 253. Adesanya, however, went on to dominate Costa and secured a second-round TKO victory. Costa ended up losing his next fight against Marvin Vettori as well and is currently on a two-fight losing streak after starting his career with 13 straight wins.
