Aung La N Sang and Reinier De Ridder have fought two times in ONE Championship so far. In the first fight, Aung La N Sang defended his ONE Middleweight title against De Ridder at ONE: Inside the Matrix and suffered a first-round submission loss.

In the second-outing, Aung La stepped up his game a bit and took the fight to the distance but it was eventually won by De Ridder via a decision. The Burmese Python believes that the third time is going to be the charm when it comes to De Ridder.

“Oh for sure. I’ve been working a lot on my weaknesses. It would be a different fight altogether. Stylistically he’s a bad match-up for me, but I’m working on my deficiencies,” he said in his recent interview with SCMP MMA.

Aung La is all set to make his return in February against Vitaly Bigdash and the former champion hopes that it is on the same card as Reinier De Ridder vs. Kiamrian Abbasov so that it showcases the Middleweight division. Aung La also noted that he will be staying ready to step up if either De Ridder or Abbasov pulls out of the fight.

“Hopefully it’s on the 25th as well, so we get a good showing from the middleweights. And if anything happens with Covid … anything can happen, so I’m not gonna put my heart into just Vitaly. Somebody could fall out, or Vitaly could fall out and I might end up competing against any one of them. I want to prove I’m one of the best middleweights in the world, so it doesn’t matter who I fight. So I will just stay ready and focus on being a better version of myself,” Aung La added.
