ONE Championship double champion Reinier De Ridder is all set to defend his Middleweight title against Kiamrian Abbasov at ONE: Full Circle on 25 February 2022. The fight will mark the first title defense for the Dutchman after winning the title from Aung La N Sang last year.

Speaking ahead of the fight, De Ridder noted that it is a fight that he has been looking forward to. In fact, De Ridder had called out Abbasov long before ONE Championship made the fight official.

"Kiamrian Abbasov is very interesting. He's been on a tear lately. It would be very cool to face him," De Ridder noted (h/t ABS CBN).

De Ridder currently has an undefeated MMA record to his name and is 14-0 at the moment. He made his debut in ONE Championship back in 2019 and has so far secured five wins in the promotion with two of them coming against Aung La N Sang.

Abbasov, on the other hand, is the reigning ONE Championship Welterweight champion. He is currently 23-4 in his professional MMA career and is riding high on a five-fight winning streak at the moment.

Despite the strong challenge from Abbasov, De Ridder believes that he can stop the fight early.

"I think I'd be very dominant in a fight with Abbasov. Just because I'm better everywhere. I'm taller, I'm stronger, I'm rangier, I'm heavier, and he gets taken down by almost anybody. So, he'll definitely get taken down by me. So, I see myself finishing that fight early,” De Ridder added.
