Team Topuria's Delyan Georgiev meets Team Khabib's Owais Yaqoob at BRAVE CF 107

A growing rivalry between two of mixed martial arts' most recognizable training camps will take center stage when Delyan Georgiev faces Owais Yaqoob in a 68-kilogram catchweight bout at BRAVE CF 107 on Aug. 1 at Burgas Arena in Burgas, Bulgaria.

The matchup pits Georgiev, a training partner of former UFC champion Ilia Topuria, against Yaqoob, who trains under former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov's renowned team.

Georgiev enters the contest as one of Bulgaria's top prospects. A two-time IMMAF world champion, he has remained unbeaten since turning professional in 2021 and has sharpened his skills at Climent Club alongside Topuria.

"Training with Ilia has completely changed my outlook as a fighter," Georgiev said. "Every session forces me to raise my level because I am surrounded by champions. That environment has prepared me for the biggest opportunities of my career."

Yaqoob has also emerged as one of BRAVE CF's fastest-rising talents. The Indian fighter owns a 5-1 professional record and has earned consecutive first-round stoppage victories over Ian Paul Lora at BRAVE CF 98 and Mehmet Can Tasdoven at BRAVE CF 103.

His rapid development led to an invitation to train with Team Khabib in late 2025, where Nurmagomedov publicly praised his dedication and work ethic before welcoming him into the camp.

"Joining Team Khabib is one of the proudest moments of my career," Yaqoob said. "I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from people who have already reached the top of this sport. Every day in that gym reminds me that success comes from discipline, consistency and humility."

The bout comes at a time when the rivalry between Team Topuria and Team Khabib has intensified amid speculation surrounding a potential superfight between Topuria and UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev. Tensions between the camps have also grown following Topuria's recent comments about submitting Makhachev in front of Nurmagomedov.

While both fighters are focused on advancing their own careers, each acknowledged the added significance of representing their respective teams inside the BRAVE CF cage.
