Akib Ali looking to make a mark at Hero Fight Night 5 when he fights Sultan

Akib Ali is all set to fight Sultan Kokni in the co-main event of Hero Pro Fight Night 5 in Nashik on July 24, 2021.

Coming on the back of some impressive performances, Akib will be looking to keep his momentum going when he steps into the Hero Cage with Sultan, who is a hometown favorite.

The event was postponed multiple times due to the pandemic and speaking about the same, Akib noted that as a fighter, he is used to adapting to the situations.

“As far as I am concerned the pandemic has hit us all up in the most dreadful way. It was one heck of a deal to get into practice after being completely stacked back at home for several months. There are numerous problems that I faced during this period for my inability to train. But this is what we do. We are fighters. I fight my way through everything in life. I am up for this fight,” he said in an exclusive statement.

When asked about Sultan, Akib noted that he has immense respect for his opponent but remained confident in his abilities.

“I think he is a good fighter and is evidently improving every day. I truly respect him. It is of course a good match-up for me but certainly not a tough one. This is a game of war. No one can predict the outcome. My game will depend on his reactions. If my calculations work right . . . I will definitely be the winning hand,” he added.

Before closing, Akib had a message for the fans as well and promised an exciting fight.

“For all the fans out there, this will be a surprising fight with fun and full of blast. They will surely be enjoying and cheering for me. And after the games are over, they will all know my name,” he concluded.

Hero Pro Fight Night 5 will happen on 24 July 2021 in Nashik and will be streamed on the social media pages of Hero MMA. The event will be headlined by the India vs. Afghanistan showdown between Mazhar Khan and Azam Mokhlis.
