Nate Diaz achieved redemption against Jorge Masvidal after nearly five years and a transition to boxing. The highly anticipated 10-round bout at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, saw Diaz emerge victorious by majority decision over Masvidal. Despite Masvidal landing heavier punches, it was Diaz's relentless volume and pressure that swayed the judges' scorecards, with scores of 97-93 and 98-92 in his favor, and a third judge scoring it 95-95 as a draw.

Post-fight, Diaz expressed satisfaction with his performance, stating, "It feels gratifying to accomplish this victory. I felt the overwhelming support from the California crowd. I maintain respect for all my opponents, and Jorge came ready to fight, as did I."

Diaz employed his trademark strategy of high-volume punching, targeting Masvidal consistently to both head and body, effectively pinning him against the ropes. Masvidal, meanwhile, adopted a cautious approach early on, seeking to establish his range and timing against Diaz's aggressive onslaught.

Masvidal began asserting himself more decisively in the second round with powerful punches, yet Diaz continued to press forward with a persistent jab followed by left-hand combinations. By the fifth round, Diaz escalated his output, forcing Masvidal to adopt a defensive posture and select his counters carefully.

Throughout the bout, Diaz maintained a brisk pace, continuously advancing and unleashing combinations, while Masvidal countered with impactful shots. The later rounds saw both fighters engaged in spirited exchanges, with Diaz landing an uppercut and Masvidal responding with a significant left hook.

The judges' decision, favoring Diaz's work rate over Masvidal's power, left Masvidal disappointed. "I believed I secured the victory," remarked Masvidal. "I delivered the harder blows. We could rematch to settle this at 1-1."

Given the bout's excitement and fan interest, a rematch is plausible. However, Diaz has his sights set on further challenges, including facing Jake Paul and pursuing a return to UFC to contend for a championship.

"I intend to defeat Jake Paul and face the top-ranked boxers," Diaz affirmed. "My ultimate goal is to reclaim a UFC title. Leon Edwards, Jake Paul, and any other challengers—prepare yourselves."
