In anticipation of her upcoming rematch against Molly McCann at UFC Vegas 85, Diana Belbita voiced her confidence, asserting herself as the superior fighter in the strawweight clash scheduled for this Saturday at the Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The much-anticipated bout is a revisiting of their 2019 encounter, where McCann emerged victorious with a unanimous decision. Speaking with Sportsnet MMA journalist Aaron Bronsteter, 'The Warrior Princess' shared her perspective on the rematch, highlighting her increased confidence, particularly after their initial meeting at flyweight. Belbita emphasized that she feels stronger and more dominant since transitioning to the 115-pound division. She stated:
"For this fight, I'm gonna be the strong one...I was never the strongest when I fought [at] 125 [pounds]. But after I moved to 115 [pounds], I actually felt like I can dominate those girls. We are on the same level, so I think that's gonna happen with Molly [McCann] too."
Belbita's confidence stems from the belief that McCann was unable to secure a finish at the heavier weight class, and she sees the move to strawweight as an advantage. As the fighters prepare to clash in the octagon, fans eagerly await the outcome of McCann's debut in the strawweight division and whether Belbita's assessment of her own strength and dominance at 115 pounds will prove accurate.
