UFC Kansas City: Holloway vs. Allen fight Card, Preview, and India Time

UFC returns with UFC Kansas City this weekend. The event will be headlined by the showdown between Max Holloway and Arnold Allen. This will be the first event of UFC after UFC 287. 

Max Holloway, a former UFC featherweight champion and No. 2 rated contender, and Arnold Allen square off in a pivotal contest with title implications as UFC makes its first trip back to Kansas City, Missouri, in over four years. Additionally, No. 14-ranked Edson Barboza faces off against Billy Quarantillo in another featherweight fight that is certain to ignite the crowd.

Max Holloway vs. Arnold Allen Preview

Holloway (23-7, fighting out of Waianae, Hawaii) wants to have a dominant performance in his first Octagon outing of 2023. Holloway is one of the best featherweights to ever participate in the UFC, and he owns the records for the division in terms of victories (18), finishes (10), winning streaks (13), and total strikes (2,872) landed. He now intends to eliminate a rival title candidate in order to gain entry into the title race again.

In the biggest opportunity of his MMA career, Allen (19-1, fighting out of Trimley St. Martin, Suffolk, England) plans to put on his best display to date. Since joining the UFC in 2015, he has gone undefeated, and victories over Gilbert Melendez, Dan Hooker, and Calvin Kattar have helped him climb the rankings to No. 5. Allen now aims to completely discredit Holloway and establish his claim for a chance at the crown.

Edson Barboza vs. Billy Quarantillo

Barboza (22-11, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) makes a comeback with the hopes of adding another breathtaking achievement to his résumé. Barboza is a fierce striker who has won over Terry Etim, Dan Hooker, and Shane Burgos to the pleasure of the crowd. He now has the goal of becoming the first UFC fighter to KO Quarantillo.

Quarantillo, a rising contender (17-4, fighting out of Tampa, Florida), aims to become the first fighter to enter the Top 15. He has dramatic wins against Kyle Nelson, Gabriel Benitez, and Alexander Hernandez and is renowned for his relentless cardio and pace. Quarantillo now intends to win his second consecutive Performance of the Night prize and start his ascent to title contention.
