UFC 287 Results: Israel Adesanya Knocks out Alex Pereira to win the title back

UFC 287 is in the books. The event was headlined by the UFC middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira.

The first round of the main event saw both Adesanya and Pereira being cautious. Pereira, however, switched gears in the second round which forced Adesanya to step up as well. Pereira seemed to be ahead with his leg kicks but Adesanya pulled a KO punch out of nowhere and stopped the Brazilian to reclaim the UFC Middleweight title.

In the co-main event, Gilbert Burns got a decision win over Jorge Masvidal. Burns was in control throughout the fight and took home a comfortable win on the scorecard. Masvidal, meanwhile, talked in the post-fight speech as though this will be his last fight in the UFC.

Rob Font produced a memorable knockout against Adrian Yanez. Font managed to stop Yanez in the first round itself. Christian Rodriguez, meanwhile, derailed the momentum of Raul Rosas Jr. After a small hiccup in the first-round, Rodriguez was able to come back strongly in the next two rounds and took home a decision win.

Kevin Holland stopped Santiago Ponzinibbio in the third round after planning the Argentinian to the canvas. In the prelims, Kelvin Gastelum got a win over Chris Curtis when Luana Pinheiro got a split decision against Michelle Waterson.

Joe Pyfer stopped Gerald Meerschaert. Lupita Godinez got a split decision win over Cynthia Calvillo as well in the prelims.
