UFC 292 Results: Sean O Malley becomes new champion, Zhang Weili retains

UFC 292 went down today in Boston. The show was headlined by the UFC Bantamweight title showdown between Aljamain Sterling and Sean O Malley and the fight lived up to the expectations.

The first round started off with both fighters threading carefully but Sean O Malley managed to shock the world with a huge TKO stoppage of Sterling in the second round to become the new UFC Bantamweight champion.

In the co-main event, Zhang Weili dominated Amanda Lemos to retain the UFC Strawweight title. The UFC Strawweight champion had a submission scare at one point of the fight but dominated after the same to defend the title comfortably.

Ian Garry made a statement in his fight against Neil Magny. Garry, who took out Magny’s leg midway through the fight cruised into a dominant decision win and called out Stephen Thompson for a fight.

Mario Bautista edges out Da’Mon Blackshear after three rounds when Marlon Vera pushed his case for a Bantamweight title shot with a win over Pedro Munhoz.

Brad Tavares and Gregory Rodrigues also secured wins on the preliminary card when Kurt Holobaugh and Brad Katona emerged as the TUF Winners on the preliminary card.
