UFC 286 is in the books. The event was headlined by the Welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman which also happened to be the third fight between the two fighters.

The first round of the main event saw both Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards having their moments. However, in the second round, Usman started to get the upper hand with his grappling prowess when Edwards was throwing leg kicks which were landing.

The third round had plenty of drama. Edwards was penalized by Herb Dean for grabbing the cage while defending a takedown defense. The fight also had a timeout due to a groin strike from Edwards. Despite the small blockers, it was Usman that still had the slight upper hand in the round when Edwards was fighting with the mindset of getting ahead in the scorecard.

A similar story unfolded in the fourth and fifth rounds as well as Usman was having success with his grappling while Edwards was enjoying success with his leg kicks. In the end, the judges decided to score the fight in favour of Edwards who was announced as the winner after five rounds.

In the co-main event, Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev delivered an action-packed fight which had plenty of moments. Both the fighters had their foot on the throttle from the opening minutes.

Gaethje was seen throwing more punches through the three rounds and it translated into a majority decision win for him against Fiziev.

Maia, Nelson and Vettori pick up wins

The main card opened with a middleweight showdown between Marvin Vettori and Roman Dolidze. The fight went the distance and it was Vettori who was announced as the winner by the judges after which some debates were sparked about the decision.

Jennifer Maia ended the undefeated run of Casey O Neill as she outclassed the returning O Neill. Maia was dominating O Neill with her superior boxing throughout the three rounds and eventually took home the decision win.
