When Tawanchai PK Saenchai visited Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on Friday, February 24, he triumphed decisively in the opening round.

In the opening round of their co-main event bout for ONE Fight Night 7: Lineker vs. Andrade II on Prime Video, the ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion stunned #2-ranked challenger Jamal "Yeniceri" Yusupov with low kicks, exciting the enthusiastic Bangkok, Thailand crowd.

The 2018 Lumpinee Boxing Stadium Fighter of the Year, Tawanchai, was motivated by this return to the legendary location and delighted to achieve another victory in front of his countrymen.

“I am very happy that I could defend my belt and I’m very thankful for all the support. The ambience definitely made me think of the old ambience that I had when I fought in the stadium before. It was a really big motivation for me and encouraged me to keep winning,” he said in an interview with ONE Championship.

On his first World Title defence, Tawanchai defeated Yusupov in just 49 seconds. The PK Saenchai athlete was willing to fight to the end, but he quickly realised that the low kicks were the key to success.

The Pattaya native struck "Yeniceri" with another hard left shin after seeing that his initial attempts to check him were unsuccessful. This caused Yusupov to limp to the ropes and eventually leave the fight.

Tawanchai PK Saenchai, who is only 23 years old, intends to dominate the ONE featherweight Muay Thai class for a very long time and is ready to defend his title against anyone.

But he only has one blemish in The Home of Martial Arts, and he seeks atonement. Tawanchai lost a split decision against Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, another legendary Thai fighter, in 2021. Despite their friendship, Tawanchai would be open to taking on "Killer Child" in an effort to avenge the loss.

“I have a lot of respect for Sitthichai, and we talk daily, but if ONE Championship wants us to fight, that’s okay. I am ready.” He added.
