Renowned as "The Kicking Machine," Superlek Kiatmoo9 solidified his standing as one of the premier pound-for-pound strikers worldwide with a commanding triumph at ONE 165.

In the recent event held this past Sunday, the Thai icon successfully defended his ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title against Takeru "The Natural Born Crusher" Segawa at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan, securing a unanimous decision victory. Superlek, living up to his moniker, executed a punishing assault on Takeru's lead leg throughout the five thrilling rounds.

While there was little doubt about Superlek's deserving win, the battle earned Takeru significant respect from the 28-year-old Thai champion.

Speaking exclusively to onefc.com after his victory, Superlek acknowledged Takeru's resilience, stating, "There was no surprise [about what Takeru displayed today]. That’s why he’s one of the top fighters in the world. I thought that I was a heavy hitter, but I could not take him down. I could not drop him at all. He just kept coming right at me." Despite Superlek's leg kicks causing substantial damage to Takeru's leg, the Japanese superstar exhibited incredible heart, lasting until the final bell.

Beyond Takeru's tenacity, Superlek recognized the complexity of the fight, attributing it to his opponent's astute fight IQ. The flyweight kickboxing king explained, "I believe that my leg kick definitely had some effect on Takeru, but I must say that he did his homework very well. I had been studying with the team how to knock him down. One of the things was that every time Takeru came in and tried to throw a left hook and right hook, I planned to do a high kick."
