In a historic return to Japan, ONE Championship (ONE) delivered a spectacular evening of martial arts with ONE 165: Superlek vs. Takeru at the renowned Ariake Arena in Tokyo. The event, presented in collaboration with luxury performance brand TUMI and other esteemed partners, showcased two electrifying World Title fights, captivating fight enthusiasts around the globe through a thrilling pay-per-view experience.

The main event featured a clash between two of the planet's premier strikers, as Superlek Kiatmoo9 faced off against former three-division K-1 World Champion, Takeru Segawa, for the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship. From the onset, the Thai superstar, Superlek, dominated the bout with a relentless barrage of low kicks, strategically targeting Takeru's lead leg. Despite Superlek's offensive onslaught, Takeru exhibited remarkable resilience, countering with his trademark boxing combinations.

As the action intensified in the second round, Superlek, also known as "The Kicking Machine," continued his assault, compelling Takeru to recalibrate his game plan. The third round witnessed a resurgence from Takeru, aptly nicknamed "The Natural Born Crusher," as he landed punishing hooks to Superlek's body and head.

In the closely contested final two rounds, both fighters had their moments, but it was Superlek who maintained a powerful offensive stance until the final bell. The judges unanimously scored the bout in favor of the Thai megastar, solidifying his successful defense of the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship.

In the co-main event, Kade Ruotolo successfully retained his ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Title in a highly anticipated rematch against Norwegian sensation Tommy Langaker. The 21-year-old Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu phenom displayed creative transitions, positional dominance, and a diverse array of attacks. This strategic prowess allowed Ruotolo to launch numerous submission attempts, keeping Langaker on the defensive throughout the 10-minute battle. The American emerged victorious with a clear-cut unanimous decision.
