Sean O Malley could be a massive global star as per Dana White

UFC President Dana White feels that Sean O Malley is on the verge of becoming a massive global star. White noted the same during his interview with TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter and compared the rise of Sean O Malley to that of Conor McGregor.

“O’Malley is on the cusp of being a massive global superstar. There was talk earlier about Conor, he said, ‘I’d like to be as big as Conor’ and stuff like that. Well, if you want to compare it to Conor – this is like the Conor vs. Jose Aldo fight,” he said in the interview.

Dana White, however, stressed the importance of how Sean O Malley should get a win over Petr Yan to become a star.

“When you have that type of star power and you have that thing people are attracted too, then it’s about winning key fights like this. For O’Malley, he wins this fight on Saturday, his entire life changes on Sunday,” he added.

Sean O Malley is set to fight Petr Yan at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi and currently holds a professional MMA record of 15-1 to his name. The 27-year-old has only lost to Marlon Vera in the UFC and came through the Dana White Contender Series event. He was recently seen with a string of celebrities including Bollywood star Ranveer Singh and former NBA Star Shaquille O’Neal among others.

Petr Yan, on the other hand, is 16-3 in his career and has only lost to Aljamain Sterling in his UFC run. Yan will be looking to get back into the title picture with a win over O Malley.
