In a surprising turn of events, Conor McGregor has announced a potential showdown with Michael Chandler at the UFC’s International Fight Week event on June 29, with expectations that the bout could take place at 185 pounds. Although the UFC has not officially confirmed the matchup, Chandler has expressed his willingness to face McGregor in any weight class.
Sean O’Malley shared his thoughts on the development during an episode of his TimboSugarShow, expressing enthusiasm about the prospect of McGregor achieving highlight-reel knockouts in four different weight divisions.
“I feel like he might be fiddling, I think he’s just trying to — I don’t know,” O’Malley remarked. “I wonder if that really … Chandler probably walks around max 185. Conor, probably 190, whatever. Interesting matchup there at 185, and if he knocks out Chandler at 185, he’ll have a knockout at ‘45, knockout at ‘55 … Donald Cerrone, knockout at ‘70, knockout at 185. That would be legendary.”
McGregor's impressive list of knockout victories spans multiple weight classes, including featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight, with notable wins over Jose Aldo, Dustin Poirier, Eddie Alvarez, and Donald Cerrone. Despite these achievements, the former two-division champion has faced challenges in recent years, securing only one win since 2016.

Notably, fighters like Vitor Belfort and Jared Cannonier have also achieved knockout victories in more than two UFC weight divisions.
If McGregor returns to the octagon as announced, it will mark his first fight in nearly three years. His most recent bout was a trilogy against Dustin Poirier, where he suffered a broken leg in the opening round, leading to a defeat.
