Liverpool's own Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett has his eyes set on a showdown with MMA superstar Conor McGregor, labeling it his "dream fight" during a recent appearance on the Disruptors podcast. Pimblett, who made his UFC debut in 2021, expressed confidence in his ability to take McGregor down and secure a victory via submission.

Currently riding a five-fight winning streak, including a recent decision win over former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson at UFC 296, Pimblett has been making waves in the MMA world. McGregor, on the other hand, is preparing for his comeback bout against Michael Chandler following a serious leg injury sustained in his last fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021.

In the podcast interview, Pimblett emphasized the allure of facing McGregor, stating, "A dream fight, probably Conor lad because you'll get paid more than anyone else fighting him." Despite acknowledging McGregor's formidable skills, Pimblett expressed confidence in his ability to impose his grappling game and secure a victory.

Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping weighed in on the potential matchup, describing it as "gigantic." While recognizing the commercial appeal of the bout, Bisping doubted McGregor's interest in facing Pimblett, citing the latter's status as a relative newcomer in the UFC lightweight division.

Bisping also highlighted areas for improvement for Pimblett, particularly in terms of conditioning, following his victory over Ferguson. Despite Pimblett's impressive performance, Bisping stressed the importance of addressing conditioning issues to compete at the highest level.
