ONE Championship Releases ONE Fight Night 6 Updated Card

ONE Championship’s first lineup of 2023 is ready to get underway, but not before a multitude of changes to the card.

The promotion’s new year will begin with ONE Fight Night 6 on Saturday, 14 January, at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, with ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon Singha Mawynn defending his belt against top-ranked Chingiz Allazov in the headliner. 

Outside of the main event, however, a litany of adjustments have been made for various reasons.

ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion Mikey Musumeci was originally slated to make his first defense against Russian Sambo specialist Sayak Khertek, but the challenger has since been forced out of action due to an injury. 

Filling in for Khertek will be Gantumur Bayanduuren - a dangerous grappler with a plethora of combat sports experience to his name. He’s a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, a gold medalist in the 2022 Sambo World Championships, and holds a 3-1 record in MMA. 

Elsewhere, Thai standout Superlek Kiatmoo9 was booked to meet an old foe Illias Ennahachi for the latter’s ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title, however, the Dutch-Morrocan was forced to vacate his championship following his inability to make the 135-pound limit while hydrated.

Superlek now finds a new opponent in place of Ennahachi in the form of Daniel Puertas. Puertas was also previously slated for action on the same card against ONE Flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon in his return to kickboxing.

With Puertas now facing “The Kicking Machine” for the flyweight strap, Rodtang will now face Chinese standout Jidou Yibu under kickboxing rules.

Former two-division ONE World Champion Aung La N Sang was also set to return to the Circle against China’s Fan Rong, but Fan tested positive for COVID-19 and has since been replaced by Gilberto Galvao.  

“The Burmese Python” was originally scheduled to return to his middleweight home against Fan, but will now face his Brazilian foe in a 215-pound catchweight bout.
