Indian MMA Fighter Ehtesham Ansari is set to fight at Naiza FC. The India will be going up against Sherzod Shamsudinov at the Naiza FC 51 event which happens on 26 May 2023.
Ehtesham, who has been training in Dagestan ahead of his fight, urged the Indian MMA fans to support him ahead of the fight.
“I’m going to represent India at NAIZA Fighting Championship in Kazakhstan and I did my training camp at Khabib’s Gym, the school of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov in Dagestan. All Indian MMA fans, please come and support me, Jai Hind,” he noted on a video that he posted on his Instagram page.
Ehtesham will be competing on the opening bout of the preliminary card at the event which takes place at Almaty in Kazakhstan.
The Indian currently holds a professional MMA record of 4-1 as per Tapology and was scheduled to fight earlier in Naiza FC but the fight was cancelled. He had signed with the promotion back in 2022. Ehtesham, however, will be making history at the event as he will become the first-ever Indian Fighter to compete under Naiza Fighting Championship.
Prior to this, Ehtesham has fought in Indian promotions like The Hero, Fight of Knights and Warrior’s Dream Series among others. He also fought in the amateur card at Matrix Fight Night.
Sherzod comes into the fight on the back of two wins and holds a record of 2-0 to his name. He was seen in action at Octagon 25 last and will be looking to continue his winning run. The Uzbek fighter will be making his Naiza FC debut with the fight as well.
