MMA India Federation AGM re-elects Sharif Bapu as Federation President

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of MMA India National Federation re-elected Sharif Mohammed Bapu as the federation president. Sharif Bapu, who was serving as the president of the federation, will continue to remain in the position till the next AGM which happens in 2027. This will be the second term for Sharif Bapu, who is also an active international official in IMMAF.

Devendra Pratap Singh Tomar, who is the Associate Vice President of Hockey India and President of the Association of Mixed Martial Arts Madhya Pradesh, was elected as the Vice-President of the federation.

Ajay Marwah, who has been instrumental in the recent sponsorship deals for the IMMAF World Championship, will also serve as the vice president of the federation.

Prasad Gaitonde, who recently was awarded the IMMAF Official of the Year award, will continue as the Secretary-General while Nitin Singh and Shaikh Khalid will serve as Joint Secretaries.

Radhika Jhaveri will be the treasurer of the federation for the new term. International officials Kevin Alfred David, Vikas Sharma and Samuel Lalzaroma will also be on the board along with Varsha Eashwaran.

Actress Preeti Janghiani was appointed as the Chairperson of the Women’s Commission.

MMA India recently signed an MOU with MMA Federations in Tajikistan and Mauritius to promote the sport and will be looking to build on the same in the coming term.
