As he seeks to resurrect his BRAVE Combat Federation career, Lucas "Mineiro" Martins (now 21-6) is unwilling to take any quick cuts. The former BRAVE CF Lightweight champion returned in amazing style with a fantastic technical knockout victory over fellow Brazilian and dangerous Henrique Marques (now 8-2) early in the first round of their BRAVE CF 60 Lightweight contest this past weekend in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

This came after a challenging period that included three back-to-back losses and six fight cancellations.

For Martins, who has encountered a lot of hardship and has recently suffered a number of defeats, the outcome of the major event was undoubtedly a momentous occasion. Now that he has complete control of the BRAVE CF Lightweight, "Mineiro" is eager to prove to the world why he is a worthy champion.

“First of all, thank you to Brave Combat Federation for the opportunity. Out of the last fights I was scheduled to fight in, all of them were cancelled. I know I came from three losses but with this win, you know where I belong and you know what I can do in this division … You know my level,” said Martins in his post-fight speech.

He then went on to note what he said to Mohammed Shahid.

“Those who are with me, they know what I have been through, this fight was actually won way back, this right here was just fun. I told BRAVE CF President, Mohammed Shahid, that I know I can fight for the belt at Lightweight and at Super Lightweight, but I don’t want to do that now. I want to sweep the Lightweight division. I know Rolando Dy has challenged me before. Let’s start with him. Is Magic Man available right now? Let’s go. I can be ready in six weeks. I want to fight and beat everybody in that division (Lightweight), then take that belt first,” concluded Martins.

Egypt's Ahmed Amir, the current lightweight champion, will defend his title against Abdisalam Kubanychbek of Kyrgyzstan, the current interim 155-pound champion in a bout to unify the title.

As the world's fastest-growing mixed martial arts organisation gets ready to hold BRAVE CF 61 on Saturday, August 6th, in cooperation with top German promoter National Fighting Championship (NFC), BRAVE NATION will travel to Bonn, Germany this coming week. For BRAVE Combat Federation, this will be the first-ever German competition.
