The Lightweight world title picture at BRAVE Combat Federation is clearing up, as the reigning lineal champion Ahmed Amir, out due to injury, has the next suitor to his belt ready to go.

This past weekend at BRAVE CF 59 in Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan's number one male fighter Abdisalam Kubanychbek (19-3 1 No Contest) cemented his shot at the current champion after he beat Kazakhstan’s Olzhas Eskaraev (10-6) via a hard-fought unanimous decision under the bright lights of the beautiful outdoor Bukhara arena. With the five-round decision victory, Kubanychbek became the BRAVE CF Lightweight interim world champion.

This is a major moment for the glamorous division which has seen a lot of hiccups as of late, and has never had a world champion defend his title. In total, there have been seven champions - Ottman Azaitar, Lucas Mineiro, Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady, Luan Santiago, Cleiton Silva, Amin Ayoub, and now Ahmed Amir.

This past weekend at BRAVE CF’s debut in Uzbekistan, Kubanychbek joined that group, albeit as an interim titleholder. And ‘’Omok’’ cut a completely different figure in the post-fight interview. It was as if the relief of securing the title had just brought a calmness over him as an almost-unemotional steely-nerved Kubanychbek spoke concisely sharing his feelings with the crowd and BRAVE CF fans across the world.

“Eskaraev was a tough opponent. I was expecting that,” said Kubanychbek who’d endured adversity to overcome after cutting his eye during a clash of heads early in the fight.

“Thank you to him for that and for taking the fight. “Ahmed Amir, my message for you is this: ‘I feel like I am the real champ. I fought for the interim belt twice now. Give me the fight,” added the BRAVE CF Interim Lightweight champion at the end of BRAVE CF 59 - which was held in association with Amir Temur Fighting Championship.
