Laura Sanko was finally able to interview Shavkat Rakhmonov. The interview happened after Shavkat’s UFC 285 win over Geoff Neal and the same was posted on the official YouTube channel of the UFC.
You can see the interview below.
At UFC 285, Shavkat Rakhmonov and Geoff Neal traded blows and stood toe-to-toe until a standup submission put a stop to the brawl.
Rakhmonov submitted Neal with a standing rear-naked choke at the 4:17 point of Round 3 to end a back-and-forth struggle that left both fighters dazed. Neal's catchweight fight, which took place at Las Vegas's T-Mobile Arena because he exceeded the welterweight limit, was on the main programme.

Rakhmonov and Neal each delivered powerful blows in the opening round. A clattering head kick from Rakhmonov led Neal to back off. Neal delivered a powerful punching combination later in the round.
Rakhmonov appeared to be the physically larger fighter notwithstanding Neal's miscalculation on the scales. Rakhmonov kept his hands close to his sides as he dove and dove. Rakhmonov kept making more and better-quality landings. Neal continued to be a threat and delivered brutal boxing combinations.
To the excitement of a crowded Las Vegas crowd that featured famous people like Tom Brady, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Mark Wahlberg, Neal proceeded to fight Rakhmonov in Round 3 despite being exhausted and covered in blood.

After tying Neal up, Rakhmonov launched his own onslaught of attacks. Neal's knees were almost folded up against his torso, yet he managed to stand up. In the clinch, Rakhmonov shifted to the back and grabbed Neal's neck. While there were no hooks in the choke, Neal attempted to resist it, but when Rakhmonov tightened the hold, he lost consciousness. Neal tapped before collapsing to the ground.
