Khamzat Chimaev, the third-ranked welterweight in the UFC, was recently captured on camera fighting back tears after speaking with a young girl. The footage was provided by ESPN MMA correspondent Laura Sanko. She also mentioned the soft side of MMA fighters.
Khamzat Chimaev was spotted in the video attending an event where a young child approached 'Borz' for a conversation.
She appeared to be crying and holding a picture of him in her hands. Although making every effort to hold back his tears, Chimaev was seen wiping away a few stray tears, suggesting that whatever she told the undefeated boxer must have been a very emotional tale.
It is impossible to establish the exact discussion, but sources claimed that the girl had lost her parents. In order for her brothers to be able to protect themselves, she demanded that Khamzat Chimaev teach them how to fight.

The young girl's pleading request seemed to hit "Borz" particularly hard. He appeared to be engaged in a serious struggle with himself as he attempted to control his emotions while being seen on camera and in public, but he was seen wiping them away.
Laura Sanko took it to her Instagram Stories to appreciate the soft side of Khamzat Chimaev and noted that most of the fighters out there are like this.
“The beautiful and gentle side of these fighters we don’t always see. See the comments for the context of this interaction my understanding is that this girl was orphaned and she asked Chimaev if he would train his brothers how to fight so they could defend themselves,” the writing from Sanko read.
Sanko was all over the news recently due to her exchanges with Shavkat Rakhmonov who interestingly is in a collision course with Khamzat Chimaev as well.
