As anticipation builds for BRAVE CF 88, Light Heavyweight title contenders Erko Jun and Alexander Wesner crossed paths during fight week at their hotel, surprising onlookers with a respectful greeting that included a hug and friendly words.
The two fighters are set to face off in the main event this Saturday for the vacant Light Heavyweight title, in what is one of the most highly anticipated fights of the year.
Erko Jun enters the bout following an impressive finish against former title challenger Mohamed Said Maalem at BRAVE CF 81. The Bosnian fighter is gearing up for his third consecutive BRAVE CF main event and expressed confidence in his preparation for the matchup.
“I feel more than ready, and it is going to be a night to remember,” Jun said. “He looks focused. He looks ready. He is chill like me.”
On the other side, Alexander Wesner arrives with a five-fight winning streak and is a regional champion at Middleweight. The German knockout artist aims to showcase his skills on a global stage and become the BRAVE CF Light Heavyweight champion. Known as a younger and faster counterpart to Jun, Wesner adds an intriguing element to the fight.
The BRAVE CF Light Heavyweight division has previously seen champions like Klidson Abreu and Mohammad Fakhreddine, and both fighters are eager to join this elite group as they prepare for their showdown at BRAVE CF 88.
The event, held in partnership with WFC, marks BRAVE Combat Federation's second appearance in Slovenia this year, following the success of BRAVE CF 81. The card also includes the inaugural BRAVE CF Heavyweight title fight between Lithuanian powerhouse Pavel Dailidko and Polish star Patryk Dubiela in the co-main event.
