The Manipur government has announced that the state has allotted land for Indian MMA star Jojo Rajkumari.

The statement was made following N Biren Singh's meeting with Jojo Rajkumari at the Sangai Festival 2022's "Meet the Star" session and learning about the struggles the fighter faced.

"Happy to allot a plot of land for our renowned MMA Star Ms Jojo Rajkumari today. After hearing about the difficulty faced by Jojo Rajkumari at the “Meet the Star” program of Sangai Festival 2022, it was decided that a plot of land be allotted to her,” Biren Singh noted on his Twitter page.

Currently fighting at Matrix Fight Night, Jojo Rajkumari has been living in a rented house and was allocated land on the Western Side of SDO Office Moirang College Gate.

Jojo thanked the Chief Minister for the gesture and praised him for identifying the issues encountered by the athletes.

Local MLA Thongam Shanti, meanwhile, noted that he was not aware of the struggles that Jojo had gone through. He went on to further state that he has always congratulated Jojo on her victories while appreciating the CM for the land allotment.

The Indian MMA fighter currently holds a record of 2-2 in Matrix Fight Night having secured wins over Ishika Thite and Mary Jane Buna. The win that Jojo secured against Mary Jane Buna, interestingly, came through a knockout which had gone viral on the internet.

She was in action at the recently concluded MFN 10 as well in Dubai and suffered a close decision loss to fellow Indian fighter Priya Sharma.

Prior to her run in Matrix Fight Night, Jojo had fought multiple times in Manipur as well.
