Reigning ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks, popularly known as ‘The Monkey God’, has expressed skepticism regarding the training adjustments made by his upcoming opponent, Joshua Pacio. Despite Pacio's significant changes, including leaving Team Lakay to co-found Lions Nation MMA and implementing new training methods, Brooks remains unimpressed, dismissing them as "bullsh**".

Pacio's departure from Team Lakay in 2023 to establish Lions Nation MMA with former ONE lightweight MMA world champion Eduard ‘Landslide’ Folayang brought about several alterations to his training regimen, including working with a new Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) coach and enlisting the expertise of a nutritionist to enhance his physical conditioning.

However, Brooks, a 30-year-old American, remains unfazed by Pacio's modifications. In a recent interview with YouTube channel The MMA Superfan, Brooks openly criticized Pacio's nutrition program, casting doubt on its effectiveness.

"I understand he’s going through a nutrition program, which I think is all bullsh** anyway," remarked Brooks. "I think he’s going to be weaker because of that nutrition program. Because he was eating his regular Filipino food and then he’s just cutting in the end."
