“The Youth Worlds are important for Team India as this would be the first time our team participates in the championships. In 2019 we had visa issues with the embassy, and in 2021 because of the Pandemic, we were not allowed to participate as the second wave had hit us badly. But now, leaving the past behind, the young team are geared up with their training, hard work & efforts so that we have many Podium finishes. The team coaches are all putting in their hard work and seeing to that Team India makes a mark in the championship,” MMA India President Sharif Bapu noted in a statement to IMMAF about the importance that the federation is giving to the Youth World Championship.

The MMA India Federation has been quite active lately and hosted an IMMAF International Judge and Referee Seminar by Marc Goddard in Mumbai earlier in July. The Team is also planning a National level Judge and Referee Seminar at the UFC Gym in Delhi later this year.

India had a good outing at the IMMAF World Championship recently with Vridhi Kumari winning a Bronze Medal in the Women’s Atomweight division.

Multiple Indian fighters picked up victories as well for the nation in the Senior World Championship making it one of the most successful outings for the country at the IMMAF Stage.
