BRAVE Combat Federation is set to return to Spain with BRAVE CF 89, headlined by a highly anticipated Super Welterweight title fight between champion Kamal Magomedov and Brazilian finisher Luiz Cado. The event will take place on October 19 at Pabellon Santiago Martin in Tenerife.
Magomedov Defends Title for the First Time
Kamal Magomedov, who captured the Super Welterweight title at BRAVE CF 77 by defeating Marcin Bandel with a first-round stoppage, will make his first title defense at BRAVE CF 89. Undefeated in his professional MMA career, Magomedov has won all three of his fights under the BRAVE CF banner. Despite being called out by fighters like Alex Lohoré and Eliezer Kubanza, his first challenger is Luiz Cado.
Luiz Cado Earns Title Shot
Luiz Cado, currently on a three-fight winning streak, has had a dominant run in BRAVE CF. The Brazilian fighter has finished all of his opponents in the promotion, most recently submitting Vernon Ramos at BRAVE CF 78. His previous victories over Willker Lemos and Luis Felipe Dias further solidified his reputation as a dangerous finisher.
Co-Main Event: Sanchez vs. Smullen
The co-main event will feature a Featherweight bout between Spanish veteran Jose Sanchez and Irish fighter Richie Smullen. Sanchez, a seasoned competitor in the European MMA scene, will look to impress in front of his home crowd. Smullen, riding a three-fight winning streak, aims to make a strong debut in the BRAVE CF Featherweight division and spoil Sanchez’s homecoming.
BRAVE CF’s European Tour Concludes
BRAVE CF 89 marks the promotion's second event in Spain, following BRAVE CF 75, and will be held in partnership with Fight2One. This event will be the final stop of BRAVE CF’s 70-day world tour, which has included events in six countries, showcasing BRAVE CF’s commitment to the growth of MMA in Europe.
