BRAVE CF 70: Fight of the Year award winner Andreas Gustafsson Berg returns

In his one and only appearance in the BRAVE CF cage, Swedish star Andreas Gustafsson Berg left a lasting impression on the BRAVE Nations audience by thrashing Serbia's Miro Jurkovic via TKO at BRAVE CF 39. The fight's extraordinary qualities led to it being named the "Fight of the Year" by 2020 BRAVE CF.

On April 23, at BRAVE CF 70 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, "Bane" will make his way back to the BRAVE CF arena where he will compete for more glory versus top-ranked Super Lightweight Joilton "Peregrino" Lutterbach.

Gustafsson Berg, a natural Middleweight, has won his last two matches, including a first-round knockout victory over David Hosek of the Czech Republic in February. Gustafsson Berg only ever experienced defeat twice in the amateur and professional levels; it was his seventh halt in eight professional victories.

Gustafsson Berg, who has amassed 18 career victories, is one of the few competitors who have defeated Christian Leroy Duncan of England in an amateur match at the IMMAF World Championships in 2018. Since then, the Swedish fighter has successfully moved on and is now focusing on another superstar in Lutterbach, a six-time MMA champion who has won two K-1 championships and is almost ready for a BRAVE CF title battle.

With two devastating first-round finishes over Marcel Grabinski and Mihail Cotruta, "Peregrino" is riding an eight-fight winning streak in combat sports. A victory over the Brazilian might not only upend the BRAVE CF team but also rewrite the record books.

While Lutterbach's remarkable run has earned him a shot at Super Lightweight champion Eldar Eldarov, for the time being, he will have to contend with the strength and fight smarts of Gustafsson Berg, who looks to make history once more when he makes his highly anticipated BRAVE CF return in what could be another "Fight of the Year" contender.

When BRAVE CF lands in Ljubljana for its 20th event in Europe since its founding in 2016, BRAVE CF will co-promote BRAVE CF 70 with the top regional organisation WFC and 12 nations will be represented by 16 top athletes.
