Dana White names Bo Nickal as the hottest prospect in MMA

Dana White sees Bo Nickal as the biggest prospect in MMA. Interestingly, Dana White said this before the dominant performance from Bo Nickal at UFC 285.

There never seems to be a shortage of prospects seeking to establish themselves in the UFC and position themselves as the competition's next big thing. Yet it appears that Dana White already knows who will be the next big star.

In an interview with TMZ Sports, White was questioned about Bo Nickal, an NCAA Division I wrestling champion and 3-0 MMA fighter who was making his UFC debut at UFC 285 against Jamie Pickett following two fights on the Contender Series. Here, the UFC President voiced strong confidence in Nickal's potential, should he outperform the test posed by Pickett.

“(Nickal) is fighting a guy with a ton of experience, too. The kid he’s fighting has 21 fights or something, and Bo is 3-0. It’s a big step up for him, man. If he gets through this and flies through this test, who knows what (Nickal) is capable of. But there’s no doubt, he’s the hottest prospect in the sport right now. He’s probably the hottest prospect since Khamzat Chimaev, you know what I mean?,” White said (h/t MMA News).

Bo Nickal made his UFC debut on the main card of UFC 285 after this quote from Dana White. He produced a dominant performance which saw him secure a quick first-round submission finish against Pickett.

With the win, he has maintained his undefeated  run and is now looking to climb the ranks of the UFC.
