Aung La N Sang refuses to rule out potential fight with Anatoly Malykhin

Anatoly Malykhin is reigning on top of the ONE Light Heavyweight division. The Russian stopped former champion Reinier De Ridder to win the ONE Lightweight title and he is now looking to become the undisputed champion at Heavyweight as well.

Malykhin was scheduled to fight current ONE Heavyweight champion Arjan Bhullar but the fight has now been moved to a future date which is yet to be announced.

Aung La, on the other hand, is coming off a win in his last fight and would be looking to edge closer towards a Middleweight title fight when he fights Fan Rong. Speaking to SCMP MMA recently, Aung La addressed the possibility of moving to Light Heavyweight again.

He said that it is a bit too early to talk about a fight with Malykhin but add that if there is an opportunity, he would grab it.

“It's too early to talk you know but you can't say no to it you know you can't say if opportunity is there. You know anything is possible but you know regardless Malykhin and Renier De Ridder or whatever nothing matters to me right now except Fan Rong,” Aung La said in the interview.

He added that it would be foolish of him to overlook the challenge posed by Fan Rong.

“You know what good is thinking about all those if I cannot do my job on May 5^th. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever you know and this task is you can't Overlook Fan Rong. You cannot Overlook that guy at all. He has everything to gain. He has a you know a title shot to gain if he beats me with nothing else to lose, like the only thing he could lose is probably get put to the hospital. You know by me but besides that, like he has nothing to lose and a lot to gain you know so but yeah but that being said right I'm not focused on anything,” Aung La said.
