Civilian people are dying: Vitali Klitschko rubbishes claims from Russia

Former Boxing Champion and Major of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko has rubbished the claims of Russia that they are only bombing military targets.

“Where is the military target. This building is a military target?” Klitschko said while pointing to a residential building that was destroyed by the Russian bombing.

The Ukrainian also added that the Civilian people are dying and that the Ukrainian people are angry now due to the actions of Russia.

"We see the result of the bombing, and civilian people dying. The spirit right now, everyone's angry. I talk to the people and they don't want to leave. This activity has brought much more energy to everyone and everyone understands they don't want to leave. We want to defend our city. We want to defend our houses. We have - right now - electricity, heating, gas, we have water,” he told in an interview with Sky Sports News

Last day, Vitali’s brother and fellow boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko had shared a video from Ukraine which showed people trying to be away from the situation. Elsewhere, Bellator Welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov had also shared a video where he noted that Russia is shelling orphanages.

The Russia – Ukraine conflict has been ongoing for nearly a month now with more than 3 million people displaced due to the crisis.

On 24 February 2022, Russia began a military invasion of Ukraine, in a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict that had begun in 2014. It is the largest military conflict in Europe since World War II.
