X1 International will be returning to Nagaland with two exciting cards this weekend as reported earlier. While the first fight card will be headlined by Mairidin Newmai vs. Lalnunsiama, the second fight card will see a main event showdown between Tanish Gupta and Kekhrieneitso Angami.

The showdown between Tanish and Kekhreineisto is hands down one of the most exciting fights on offer this weekend considering the momentum that these two are bringing into the cage.

The Combat Academy Nagaland’s Kekhrieneitso is undefeated in his amateur MMA career and recently came home with a Bronze Medal in the ADCC India Open 2019. He noted that he is confident of his preparations and that he is ready for all the scenarios that Tanish can throw at him.

“I've always visualize these moments ever since I was introduce to martial arts, ever since I fell in love with it. And now I'm here headlining the entire event in the biggest festival of our State (Nagaland). And regarding my fight, I'm prepared for everything, every scenario. It doesn't matter where the fight goes. I have confident in myself, my skill set, and my team The Combat Academy Nagaland. I always have respect for my opponent, and I'll expect nothing less of him. But this is my time, my calling. Here to put on a show, put on a statement,” he said.

Tanish, meanwhile, is coming off a five-fight winning streak and is a gold medallist at the 2019 ADCC Indian Open. Tanish, also had an equal amount of respect for his opponent and even tagged The Combat Academy Nagaland as the Team Lakay of India. But at the same time, Tanish is confident about the skills that he has acquired.

“Yes, it’s a huge opportunity for me to show my skills on this big stage. My opponent is tough, undefeated, fighting out of Nagaland from the Combat Academy. They have good wrestling and striking, they are like a Team Lakay of India. It will be a three round grind, because I trust my wrestling, I have spent 2 years training mud pit wrestling in Punjab at Chamkaur Sahib, Sant Baba Pyara Singh Kusthi Akhada aka Lions MMA Punjab. And been polishing my MMA skills at Ultimate Fitness and MMA under Chaitanya Gavali,” Tanish said.

Fighting out of Ultimate Fitness & MMA, Tanish also expressed his gratitude to people who were supporting him and stressed that he wants to represent the wrestling community.

“I want to represent the wrestling community and my team who has been supporting me. Raju Pehelwan ,Chaitanya Gavali, Yadwinder Singh , Goldy Dhillon, Hardeep Dillon , Gurpratap Singh , Priya ‘Catwoman’ Sharma, thank you for supporting me so much. And special thanks to my sponsor Redesign sports and Indian nutritional,” he added.

Another thing that both fighters agreed upon is that they are looking forward to delivering a show for the fans.

“Without a doubt, the people, the fans are gonna have a thrill” Kekhrieneitso said.

Tanish also promised a worthy main event.

“Fans will be witnessing a high pace war, it will be worthy main event,” he concluded.

The fight between Tanish and Kekhrieneitso headlines the X1 International Fight Night which happens in Kohima on December 7th. The event will be taking place at the Naga Solidarity Park.
