The much-awaited Muay-Thai showdown between Supergirl Jaroonsak and Ekaterina Vandaryeva happened today at ONE: Heavy Hitters.
The match started off at a high pace with both Supergirl and Ekaterina landing some big punches. Supergirl started dictating the pace after a while and was pushing forward.
The youngster ended the round on a strong note and was on the front foot throughout the last minute of the round. Supergirl tried to pick up from where she left off in the first round in the second but was met with a flurry of punches from Ekaterina who picked up momentum from the spell and dominated the remaining part of the round.
Ekaterina came in strong in the third and final round but was met with stiff resistance from Supergirl who was on the front foot throughout the round. In the end, the judges ruled the fight in favor of Supergirl via Split Decision.
Supergirl Jaroonsak came into the fight on the back of her impressive promotional debut win which happened back in 2020. The young prospect had stopped Milagros Lopez in the first round of the bout. Ekaterina Vandaryeva, on the other hand, was on a two-fight losing streak having suffered losses to Jackie Buntan and Janet Todd. She was on a three-fight winning streak prior to these two losses.

In the preliminary card, Tiffany Teo secured a huge submission win over Meng Bo. Shuya Kamikubo also secured a win in the prelims as he submitted Troy Worthen in the third round. ONE: Heavy Hitters was the first fight card of the year 2022 from ONE Championship and was headlined by the ONE Women’s Strawweight title fight featuring Xiong Jing Nan and Ayaka Miura.
